3 Men Wanted In Xenia Home Invasion

Tuesday, October 7, 2008 – updated: 4:36 pm EDT October 7, 2008

Police in Xenia are looking for three men who forced their way into a home and robbed the people inside.

The home invasion happened just after 11 p.m. Monday at an apartment on Alameda Drive.

Police said the three men were armed with guns and a baseball bat when they forced their way into the apartment. All three were wearing masks or bandanas.

Investigators said the home invaders forced a man and his girlfriend to the ground and pointed guns at their heads and demanded money.

The men then searched the apartment looking for cash. Police said the men found cash and a video camera and then took off.

At this point, it is not known why the victims were targeted. However, the apartment sits nestled in the back of the complex.

Capt. Dan Donahue said, “At this point we don’t know. We know they pointed the guns at them and demanded money. They eventually found some in an envelope in a dresser drawer, but why these folks were targeted is something we just don’t know.”

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified said, "I'm very secure here. I keep myself locked in. I don't open my doors for strangers."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Xenia Police Department.
