8 Could Be Charged In False Shelby Co. Home Invasion

NEWPORT, Ohio -- Deputies in Shelby County said the report of a home invasion in the village of Newport turned out to be false.The incident happened on Tuesday night at a home in the 6817 State Route 66.Investigators said the call came in as a home invasion, but after interviewing several witnesses the home invasion proofed to be false.According to deputies, the incident stemmed from an unpaid drug transaction. They said several individuals were assaulted during the incident and two were taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, but were later released with minor injuries.The case remains under investigation with possible charges pending on as many as eight individuals , including the homeowner who orchestrated the incident.LISTEN TO: 911 Call Of Shelby Co.
