MECHANICSBURG, Ohio -- One manis dead and a woman is seriously injured after a shooting in the middle of the road in Mechanisburg.

Detectives in Champaign County say someone called 9-1-1 to report a woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the middle of Wing Rd. Wednesday night.

Paramedics arrived and found Angela Portis, 29, with at least two gunshot wounds and Dakota Jones, 22, dead at the scene.

Sheriff Brent Emmons said an argument may have sparked the shootings. The sheriff said, "We believe the vehicle stopped. They exited the vehicle and the altercation continued. We can't speculate exactly what happened yet."

Detectives did find a handgun at the scene.
