Icy Roads Lead To Numerous Crashes

Thursday, November 20, 2008 – updated: 9:22 am EST November 21, 2008

Icy roads caused a six-vehicle accident along state Route 35 from Abbey Avenue to Liscum Drive in Dayton Thursday evening, shutting down east- and westbound lanes for several hours.

Police said a private ambulance was heading west when it lost control on a portion of the road and landed on its side.

Police said several people were taken to various hospitals with minor injuries.

Lt. Brian John, Dayton police, said "We brought in salt trucks to get the roads clear and not so slick."

Police said the east- and westbound lanes were shut down for several hours but are now reopened.
