Montgomery Co. To Slash Budget

DAYTON, Ohio -- Budget cuts will force Montgomery County officials to slash positions and recreation programs.Commissioner Dan Foley said 29 positions will be eliminated in 2009, but only 6 people will actually lose their jobs.The move is designed to avoid a projected 10 billion dollar deficit.Commissioner Foley said the economy has hurt much of the Miami Valley, but he says overall, the region remains strong.Along with the job cuts, the county is also ending park recreation programs and reducing programs on the city square.
