Arcanum Mourns Death Of Long Time Fire Chief

ARCANUM, Ohio -- An Arcanum man, who gave 59 years to the community on the volunteer fire department, Retired Chief Carl Bud Gray, passed away Tuesday.Gray joined the fire department in 1944 at age 16. He spent 37 of those years as chief.
Gray was instrumental in starting the Arcanum Rescue Squad in 1968.In 1949, Gray signed with the Philadelphia Athletics and played baseball in their minor league.Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church in Arcanum.Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church.Steve.Baker@whiotv.com
