Husband Says Wife Shot Accidentally At Home

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ohio -- A woman was shot in the chest at her home on the 4000 block of East County Line Road in Champaign County.Timothy Havens identified himself on the call as the woman’s husband, and said that a .38-caliber gun went off.“It was laying beside the bed. I picked it up and threw it off to the side,” Havens said in the 911 call. “We were having sex and it went off.”Emergency crews responded to the house and rushed Carolyn Havens to the hospital. She is currently listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.Meanwhile, they took the husband in for questioning, but later released him.The Champaign County Sheriff’s office said that several months ago, Timothy Havens was found guilty of assault and violating a protection order, as well as violating a protection order against his wife.No one has yet been charged. An investigation is ongoing.
