2 Car Crash Leaves 1 Dead

Monday, December 1, 2008 – updated: 10:43 am EST December 2, 2008

Wet roads gave way to icy roads Monday night leaving one person dead.

Police said the two-car collision happened on McEwen Road bridge above the Interstate 75.

Cpt. Dee Osterfeld, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, said the bridge was very icy at the time.

The road was so slick that one driver died when her vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle on the overpass, police said. The driver has been identified as Terri Carl, 29, of Moraine.

“Some of the roads are slick our there, especially the bridges and overpasses. I was just coming in here and my car slipped a little bit on this road here,” said Amit Dash, from Centerville.

The sheriff’s office said they responded to several weather related crashes across southern Montgomery County.

The other driver is expected to be OK and police did request salt trucks to treat this overpass because they said it was tough to even walk on the bridge.
