Richmond Business Owner Robbed Of $16,000

RICHMOND, Indiana -- Police in Richmond said thousands of dollars were stolen from a woman when a thief hit her business and then her home.Police said their investigation is only preliminary. They said the owner of the Oriental Gift Shop and Massage Parlor was called after business hours, around 3 a.m., by a man who wanted a massage.The owner told police that she met the man at the business and gave him a massage for an hour and a half. She told officers that the man asked to use the restroom, but came back and said her toilet was backed up.According to officers, the man told the owner that he had tools to fix the clog and left to go get them. The owner then told police that she noticed her purse was gone, including $1,000 that was in it.The owner then left and went home and discovered that her house had been broken into and ransacked. She also discovered that $15,000 was missing from her home.Police are now looking for the man who made off with $16,000.
