2 Die From Separate Miami Co. Crashes

MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio -- Two residents of Miami County died over the weekend from injuries suffered in separate traffic crashes in the county.Miami County deputies said that Jedadiah "Jed" Sheafer, 23, of near Troy, died Friday afternoon at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton from injuries suffered in the early-morning hours of Dec. 20.Sheafer reportedly lost control of his pickup truck in the 4000 block of Stringtown Road and slammed into a tree.Sheafer was within a half mile of his home when the crash happened.Deputies also said that Ruby E. Wooddell, Troy, died Saturday afternoon at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton on her 68th birthday.Wooddell was injured in a two vehicle crash the afternoon of December 24 at the intersection of Experiment Farm Road and Eldean Road.Her car came to rest upside down in a swift moving creek. Bystanders were quick to come to her aid, holding her head out of the water and flipping her car over onto its side until Troy Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene.Both crashes remain under investigation, said deputies.Steve.Baker@WHIOTV.com
