MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio -- Black smoke could be seen for many miles Sunday afternoon as the alarm sounded to alert of a fire in an unattached garage that quickly spread to the house north of Covington in Miami County.

The fire was on Rangeline Road near Klinger Road, sending firefighters from Covington, Bradford, Pleasant Hill and Russia to the scene about 1 p.m.

Covington fire investigators believe the cause of the fire was electrical in nature, according to Asst. Chief Bart Weer, who estimated the damages at $80,000.

There were no reports of any injuries.
