Family, Friends Say Goodbye To Fire Victims

Saturday hundreds of mourners packed Graham Middle School in St. Paris to say good-bye to four young victims of a trailer fire that happened a week earlier.

“They definitely brightened my day up every day I seen them,” said one man during Saturday’s public memorial service.

The service celebrated the lives of 10-year-old Breonna Snelling, 2-year-old Nathan Skaggs, 8-year-old Patrick Snelling and 10-year-old Cassie Karg.

“These kids were, they belonged to everyone,” said Melissa Bracker, aunt to the Snelling and Skaggs children. “They were just all over the place. They were just the neighborhood kids. Good kids.”

Saturday’s service gave mourners an opportunity to sign the children’s coffins.

Bracker thanked the community on behalf of the families for all of the community support.

“We’re grateful to the communities,” she said. “Without them, we just wouldn’t have been able to get through this.”
