Following up on information from another police source, police in Botkins found a package that they first feared was a possible bomb inside a car in the parking lot of the Botkins School Tuesday afternoon off Sycamore Street.

The school and neighborhood were evacuated.

About an hour later, it was found that there was no bomb and life in that rural Shelby County community returned to normal.

The incident remains under investigation by Botkins police and the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
