NEW CARLISLE, Ohio -- Authorities said a Clark County sheriff’s deputy was attacked while he tried to arrest a woman.

The deputy had just completed an investigation into a burglary complaint in New Carlisle on Wednesday when he was attacked.

Investigators said the deputy approached the woman who he said was waving at him to pull over and arrested her.

According to authorities, while the deputy was putting handcuffs on the woman, she started to struggle and kicked him the groin twice.

More deputies were called to help, and the woman was taken into custody. She is being held in the Clark County Jail.

The deputy was treated at a local hospital and released.
