Piqua Opens Extension Of Bike Trial

PIQUA, Ohio -- The city of Piqua opened another section of the city’s bicycle path on Friday, which is part of the Great Miami River Recreational Trail.A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the three-mile section of the trial that extends from Piqua south to Peterson Road.Construction of the trail began last fall and cost about $600,000 to complete. The money come from a grant from the Clean Ohio Trails Fund in cooperation with the city of Piqua and the Miami County Park District.In Miami County, there are about 30 miles of bike trials. The system is about six miles short from connecting with the 5 Rivers Bike Trails in Montgomery County.
