A motoryclist was killed in weekend pursuit in Minster, and now they have released cruiser cam video.

A motorcyclist hit a curb and crashed his cycle while reportedly running from a Minster police officer early Sunday morning.

The crash happened on a curve on Industrial Drive at Executive Parkway in Minster minutes after 3 a.m.

Troopers from the State Highway Patrol Post in Wapakoneta identified the cyclist as Nathan Thobe, 25, of Maria Stein. He was pronounced dead in the emergency room at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

It is unknown why a police officer was attempting to stop Thobe.

According to archived police radio traffic, the chase lasted about 5 minutes at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The pursuit started in Minster around Cleveland Street, headed out of town through a cornfield to State Route 119 and back into Minster where the crash occurred moments later. The police cruiser was not involved in the collision.

An unidentified police officer told an Auglaize County dispatcher to have the rescue squad step it up, "He's unconscious, not doing well." Officers initiated CPR until Minster EMS Squad arrived on the scene.

Thobe was wearing a helmet.
