Some Residents Want Trotwood Mayor Recalled

Several Trotwood residents joined together to petition to have Mayor Darreyl Davis recalled at a Monday evening city council meeting.

The recall committee which presented the petition said the mayor has not lived up to the promises he made during his campaign that got him into office and they said they lost confidence in him.

Brendalee Roseman, of Trotwood, said if Davis is going to represent them, he should be straight forward about it. And another Trotwood resident said Davis failed them.

The committee organizers hope to lead a special election to vote the mayor out, but others like James Williams, of Trotwood, said they have bigger and better things to worry about like the issues on Salem Avenue.

Davis admitted his disappointment during the Monday meeting and defended his actions by saying he will continue and has worked hard for Trotwood and its citizens.

The committee would need 442 signatures before anything can go forward and then Montgomery County Board of Elections would have to then approve the signatures.
