Darke Co. Deputy Injured In Deer Collision

PITSBURG, Ohio -- The Ohio State Patrol post out of Dayton is investigating a crash that involved a Darke County sheriff’s cruiser.The collision happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 49 just north of Gettysburg-Pitsburg Road near the village of Pitsburg.A preliminary investigation revealed that the cruiser hit a deer. Investigators said when other deputies arrived at the scene, the deer was inside the cruiser.Hanes was taken to Wayne Hospital in Greenville, where he was treated and released.
