Surveillance Video Released In Speedway Robbery

Police in Huber Heights have released surveillance video of two men who held a gas station clerk at knifepoint.

The robbery happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday at the Speedway station located at Route 201 and Chambersburg Road.

Officers said it appears that two black men walked into the store looking to rob the employee.

Sgt. Chris Kash said they "demanded all the cash from the cashier. She did as we suggest everybody does: She complied with their demands, gave them the money and they exited the store heading northbound from here on foot."

The first officers to arrive did not spot anybody as they drove up. A K-9 unit called was called in but failed to find a track to follow, leading police to believe the men had a car parked on a nearby side street or in a local business parking lot.

Police said they believe the two men used knives to threaten the employee but say they believe the video recorded by the store's in-house cameras may give them the best clues.

The descriptions of the two men are vague.

Kash said, "All we know is two black males, taller in stature, possibly wearing Army clothes, maybe some fatigues and they had their faces covered up."

Police said they will work with Speedway district managers to get the video.

Meanwhile, evidence technicians tried to lift fingerprints off the store's doors and countertops.
