Sugarcreek School Approves $1M In Cuts

Posted: 3:05 pm EDT June 19, 2009Updated: 3:41 pm EDT June 19, 2009

The Sugarcreek School Board approved $1 million in budget adjustments for the next school year.

However, the fate of sports fees and busing depended on the district’s levy, which has been put on an August ballot.

The board approved large jumps in sports fees for Bellbrook Middle School and Bellbrook High School, fees that would go into effect only if the $5 mill replacement levy fails in August.

If the levy is rejected, high school sports fees would rise from $100 to $400 per sport and the middle school fees would rise from $100 to $300.

So far, the district has not cut any bus service, but school officials said that could change.
