A 3-year-old girl was taken by Careflight to Dayton Children’s Hospital Saturday during the Enon Fourth of July parade.

Chief Troy Callahan of the Enon Police Department said the accident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Dayton and Enon Roads and it was unclear whether the girl fell off a trailer on the parade route or was hit.

The toddler is expected to make a full recovery and was transported with some cuts, bruises and a few missing teeth.

Investigators are still sorting through the details but said parents need to keep their children close, especially during the hectic Independence Day celebrations.
