MORAINE, Ohio -- Police in Moraine have released surveillance video of a smash-and-grab that happened early Monday morning.

The incident happened in the 4500 block of South Dixie Drive around 3 a.m. Monday.

Officers said someone drove an SUV, which appeared to have been stolen, into the Shamrock Gas Station.

Police said the trio of thieves stole cigarettes and fled from the scene.

Sgt. Chris Selby said, "They left a lot of stuff behind. They touched a lot of items, and we are testing those for fingerprints. They also left a lot of DNA evidence behind."

Selby said that the thieves left DNA in the vehicle and on clothing that was left at the scene.

The owners said they are going to clean up the damage as quickly as they can and hopefully be back open for business by later Monday afternoon.
