EATON, Ohio -- Officials in Preble County announced that they are having to reduce the number of sheriff’s deputies on the road once again.Reduce revenues, along with reduced government funds, means that Preble County had to make a 6 percent cut in the number of deputies that are on the roads.News Center 7 spoke with county commissioners on Monday, and they said they did not have a choice.Sheriff Mike Simpson said he will take the 6 percent cut over a proposed 8 percent cut that had previously been proposed. This would man that six deputies would have been cut, versus two deputies.
