Crispy Kreme Plant Fined For Hiring Illegal Immigrants

BUTLER CO., Ohio -- The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. is fined $40,000 for employing illegal immigrants at a Butler County factory.Immigration officials said the factory in Monroe employed at least 25 illegal workers.The company agreed to the fine as part of a settlement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.No criminal charges were filed against the company or the illegal immigrants, but those workers have either been deported or are in deportation proceedings.
