Triple Shooting Leaves Unanswered Questions

Posted: 8:00 pm EDT July 8, 2009Updated: 5:29 pm EDT July 9, 2009

Dayton police are still trying to piece together evidence from a triple shooting.

The shooting happened on S. Euclid Avenue on Wednesday night. Two men were shot and killed and a third is listed in critical condition.

Officers said the only witness to the shooting is in the hospital and not able to provide them with any information. Police said they are not sure if he killed the men in the house, if the other two shot him or if others were involved in shooting all three.

Ryan Daniel, 21, was one of two men who were killed inside the house.

Shaquana Bell, who is a friend of Daniel’s, said, “Every time I turn around I find out somebody got killed.”

“I went to middle school and high school with him and he was no bad person. He didn’t harm anyone,” Bell said.

The deaths brought out some raw emotion at the scene. There was shock, confusion and disbelief.

Thomas Casey II, 20, was the second man who was shot and killed. A third man, who drove himself to a local hospital, was shot multiple times.

Officers are now trying to determine if there were other people in the house, too. They said they found packages of marijuana and money inside the vacant house.

Police said they are confidant that the drugs played a role in the shooting, but who shot who is still unanswered.
