Man Charged In SWAT Standoff

DAYTON, Ohio -- 32 year old Andrew Jones was arrested early Friday morning, after a seven hour standoff with Dayton police. Investigators say Jones had threatened to shoot police officers and to take his own life.An iWitness7 reporter snapped photos as the SWAT team moved into the neighborhood around Brooks Street Thursday night. The house involved was located at the corner of Brooks Street and Purcell Avenue. Some neighbors were evacuated for their safety.After seven hours of negotiating, the standoff finally ended with Jones' arrest at about 2am. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail, charged with felony inducing panic.Police said the incident started when they received a call from Jones' ex-wife who claimed he sent her a text message threatening suicide.
