PIQUA, Ohio -- A woman managed to crawl out of her wrecked car after waiting for almost an hour to get help.

The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night in Piqua.

Officials said Charlenea O'Neal, 26, lost control and went off the road into a culvert.

Officers said no one could see her because the car was hidden behind a large tree.

Eventually, O'Neal freed herself from the wreckage and dragged herself up a steep embankment and through 50 feet of grass before making it to the road.

Her screams caught the attention of a state trooper.

Careflight took O'Neal to the hospital with a serious leg injury.

The accident is under investigation.
