DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton police arrested one man after a standoff occurred on Bircher Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the man fired shots into a crowd of people at Bircher and Gaddis Boulevard.

Police tried to get the man to come out of the home he was in, but said he was intoxicated and very aggressive with his language. Police also said there was a woman in the house, but she was not a hostage.

The SWAT team was called in shortly before 6 a.m., when the man finally came out of the house where he was taken into custody.

According to police, the man, whose name has not been released, is facing at least two counts of felonious assault.
