A welcome home ceremony is scheduled for Monday evening in Tipp City for cross-country bicyclist Phillip Nagle of Tipp City, completing his 48 states in 48 days (57 days) campaign to raise $48,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The homecoming will be held in the parking lot at the CVS pharmacy on West Main Street. Phil is expected to arrive in town at 6 p.m. Monday completing an 8,200-mile trek.

Nagle's average speed on the ride had been about 12 mph, but winds slowed him down to about 9 mph, adding 9 days to his trip. He was orginally projected to arrive back in Tipp City on Sept. 6.

Phil, a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati, left his hometown the morning of July 20 on State Route 571 heading east.

He is dedicating his ride to his late Uncle Alvin Nagle, who died of leukemia at age 16.
