The Moraine City Council voted to reduce staff and some operations in an effort to address a continued loss of revenue.

At a meeting Friday, the council voted to eliminate 28 full time positions. 16 of those jobs are currently unfilled. 12 current employees will be laid off. In all, 30 part time positions were removed and 129 seasonal jobs were abolished.

Operations of the Splash Moraine Water Park are suspended for the 2010 season and operating hours at the Payne Recreation Center and Gerhardt Civic Center will be reduced.
