Arson Ruled In Fatal Fire

LEBANON, Ohio -- Ohio State Fire Marshals, along with the Lebanon Fire and Police Departments announced Tuesday that a fatal fire that happened on Oct. 19 has been ruled arson.Three adults, whose identities remain undetermined, died as a result of the fire.The fire happened at 213-215 Walnut Street in Lebanon around 2:33 a.m. Fire officials said it appears that the home was not equipped with working smoke detectors.After extensive interviews and laboratory tests, investigators ruled out all accidental causes and have evidence that the fire was intentionally set.State Fire Marshal investigators have posted a Blue Ribbon Arson award for the fire. The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire.Lebanon Fire Chief Michael Hannigan said, “The fire has been ruled arson and they are continuing their investigation.”Three men were living in the rental home and all died and burned beyond recognition.Anyone with information is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau at 1-800-589-2728.
