DAYTON, Ohio -- Voters in the Miami Valley and around the state are facing yet another gambling issue on the ballot today, called State Issue 3.

The casino plan enters the election with a lead in the polls.

This is the fifth time Ohioans have voted on some form of casino gambling. This version of the plan would allow for casinos in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Toledo.

In Columbus, the casino would be built in the city's Arena District near the baseball stadium and the Blue Jackets Arena.

Some voters are voicing their support.

Kitrina Spencer said, " My main attraction is the amount of money that will stay in Ohio from people who like to gamble and the nightlife and out-of-state visitors who will come to Ohio and other cities."

The campaign has focused mostly on boosting the state's sagging economy. Although some votes we talked with doubt the casinos would really help that much.

Ashley Vidra said, "I think there's some things they still need to work out. I'm from Rossford, the Toledo area, and I have a personal opinion about where they want to put this in Toledo."

Voting here in the Miami Valley and around the state has reportedly been light, especially compared to last November's Presidential Election.

Some voters said even if Issue 3 does not pass tonight, they are hoping that it paves the way for yet another gambling issue perhaps as early as next year.

Corrie Holliday said, " I hope it will pass and the tweaks they keep making to it will hopefully push it through eventually. It seems a lot of people want it here."

You might be wondering where the Governor is in all of this? Governor Ted Strickland said he is opposed to Issue 3 but he has not campaigned against it.
