2 Injured In Fairborn Apartment Fire

FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Fairborn firefighters said a devastating apartment fire late Wednesday night was caused by an unattended candle.When fire crews arrived at South Street and Wright Avenue, they said flames are already swept through most of the building.Fire officials said the couple who lived in the apartment where the fire started, tried to put out the flames themselves before finally called for help.The two residents were injured. One suffered from smoke inhalation and the other had burns to the hands.Four pets were killed in the fire. Kara Southworth said, "It's just gone like that and now I have nothing to show for everything that I have."Damages were estimated at more than $30,000.
