Power Restored In Piqua Following Accident

PIQUA, Ohio -- A vehicle hit and snapped a large utility pole in a traffic accident in Piqua about 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Clark Avenue and South Wayne Steet.The accident occurred approximately one block away from the Piqua Municipal Power Plant, knocking out power to about 800 of the city’s 10,000 electrical customers.The outage lasted about one hour, with the exception of a dozen homes within the immediate area of the power pole. Around noon electrcity was restored to them, according to crews from the Piqua Municipal Power System.There were no injuries.
