The collision involved a semi and six cars in a chain reaction crash. According to witnesses, a semi swerved in the roadway and then a car stopped behind it. From that point on, more vehicles behind the car stopped in a chain reaction.

Police said the driver of one car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Drivers of other vehicles had to have their vehicles towed from the scene.

Dennis Ritter said, "Whole lane of traffic came to a stop. As I was stopped, I heard more brakes behind me and then BAM, BAM, BAM."

Police said that citations will be issued in the crash. They said mostly for following too closely.
