7-Vehicle Crash Closes I-75

DAYTON, Ohio -- Police in Dayton said seven vehicles were involved in a collision that closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Stanley Avenue for several hours Tuesday.The collision happened in the southbound lanes around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.SLIDESHOW: Crash Snarls I-75 TrafficThe collision involved a semi and six cars in a chain reaction crash. According to witnesses, a semi swerved in the roadway and then a car stopped behind it. From that point on, more vehicles behind the car stopped in a chain reaction.Police said the driver of one car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Drivers of other vehicles had to have their vehicles towed from the scene.Dennis Ritter said, "Whole lane of traffic came to a stop. As I was stopped, I heard more brakes behind me and then BAM, BAM, BAM."Police said that citations will be issued in the crash. They said mostly for following too closely.
