Fire In Grain Dryer On Miami Co. Farm

MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio -- A fire in a grain dryer sent firefighters from Tipp City and West Milton to a farm at 7411 Martindale Road, just north of Dayton International Airport between Tipp City and West Milton in Miami County.The location is the Moore farm.Flames were showing when fire crews arrived on the scene about 5 a.m. Wednesday.Tipp City Fire Chief Steve Kessler believes an equipment malfunction in the drying unit started the fire. A very preliminary damage estimate is $10,000, said Chief Kessler.There were no injuries. The grain bins were loaded with corn.
