New Information On Darke Co. Standoff

DARKE COUNTY, Ohio -- A Darke County man was arraigned Monday before Judge Jonathan Hein in Darke County Common Pleas Court in Greenville following an early Sunday morning standoff with deputies.Ralph Christopher Jenkins, 50, of near Greenville, appeared in court on a charge of possession of a weapon while intoxicated. His bond was set at $1,000 in cash.Jenkins was booked into the Darke County Jail at 5 a.m. Sunday on additional charges of inducing panic and two counts of domestic violence. He was not arraigned on those charges, which are expected to be first reviewed by the grand jury later this month.Darke County deputies have yet to release information concerning the incident that took place in a barn on Greenville-Nashville Road early Sunday morning.Jenkins reportedly would not come out of a barn to talk with officers concerning a domestic violence complaint.The sheriff's department's SWAT team was activated.Jenkins was treated at Wayne Hospital in Greenville before being taken to jail. He has since been released on bond.
