NEW MADISON, Ohio -- A landmark in the Darke County village of New Madison was leveled by a demolition crew over the weekend. It was the old Loft bar in the 100 block of South Main Street in the center of town that the majority of the townfolks are glad to see gone.Several years ago, voters in New Madison voted to have the night spot closed, calling it "a nuisance", said a villager who claimed to have headed the petition drive to place the issue on the ballot. The building once housed the U.S. Post Office on one side and a grocery store on the other half for many years.A number of people, some with cameras in hand, watched the building come tumbling down.
