NEW MADISON, Ohio -- The Darke County Emergency Management Agency has issued a water boil advisory until at least Tuesday for New Madison.

Residents are advised to boil drinking water for at least 5 minutes, but water is safe for other purposes, New Madison Water Superintendent Rick Snyder said.

Water pressure fell below the EPA standard of 20 lbs. which prompted the advisory, Snyder said.

Samples of water must incubate for 24 hours before testing before any bacterial presences can be detected.
