Police: 911 Call Leads To Drugs

DAYTON, Ohio -- Officers responded to a 911 call of someone being held hostage. When they arrived, they didn't find a hostage situation but did find drugs.Police said someone was briefly held against their will, but it was not a hostage situation.Officer said they found what appeared to be crack cocaine in the apartment. Investigators said officers responded to the DeSoto Bass housing complex, thinking that it was a hostage situation.Officers said it took a couple of minutes, but someone did open the door to the apartment. Police said when officers went inside they found people who should have not been there because the resident was in the hospital.Police nuisance abated three people who were inside. They also took one man into custody because he had already been nuisance abated form the property before.Residents said they believe with the warmer weather the crimes in the area are going to become more frequent.Sherri Brown said, “It’s not summer time yet, but the weather is getting hot and that's when people start doing their dirt.”Officers did not say if the man will be facing any additional drug charges.
