TROTWOOD, Ohio -- A 3-year-old boy who was taken by his non-custodial mother was found safe in Tempe, Ariz., on Tuesday morning. The discovery of the boy ended an Amber Alert that was issued early Tuesday morning by Trotwood police.Police said the child, Adorian Hill, boarded a plane with his mother and grandmother on Saturday for a flight to Arizona, where the grandmother is believed to live.Children Services in Greene County placed the boy in a foster home in Trotwood, along with two older siblings. His mother, Ashley Hill, 27, took the older children back to their foster home on Saturday during an approved weekend visit. However, she never returned Adorian by Monday morning.Capt. John Porter said, “This particular mother had made threats of harm against her children, which is why they were removed to begin with.”Children Services in Greene County asked Trotwood police to help. They checked Ashley Hill’s Huber Heights home and talked with other family members.Officers were then led to the child’s grandmother, 48-year-old Delona Gray. Officers uncovered hints that the three were headed to her home near Phoenix, Ariz.Porter said, “Some of the family members knew this was going to happen, but Greene County Children Services were not notified until Monday. On Tuesday morning, help from the FBI discovered Adorian’s name, along with his mother and grandmother on passenger lists of a Saturday flight from Dayton to Phoenix by way of Atlanta. The search for Adorian then moved to Arizona. Police said the women knew people would be looking for them, so they did not go to Gray’s house in Mesa, Ariz.Porter said, “The mother, grandmother and the child were located by police in Tempe, Ariz., in a Studio 6 extended stay motel.”Trotwood police said their understanding is that Adorian’s great-grandmother has served as a foster parent for him and his two siblings. Now, they believe that Children Services in Greene County may be looking for a new foster home, especially after everything that has happened over the last four to five days.Trotwood police said children services will try and bring the boy back to Ohio as soon as possible. They are talking to prosecutors about potential charges against the two women.
