Stabbing Victim May be Suspect in Rape

The victim of a stabbing may also be the suspect in a weekend rape.

Trotwood police said the man may have been stabbed in retaliation for his alleged attack.

Neighbors on Lotus Drive in Trotwood said it's a very peaceful place to live. Samuel Taste said, "This is like a real nice, quiet neighborhood."

On Monday night, police believe a man was stabbed there, possibly out of revenge.

Captain John Porter said, "He had been involved in some type of rape case involving a minor child."

At least, that is what witnesses told Trotwood officers.

However, police said if this rape happened, it happened in Dayton and initially went unreported.

"Based on their investigation, if he does become a suspect, it will depend on if Dayton takes them into custody," said Capt. Porter. So Trotwood detectives are focusing on the stabbing.

The victim called 911 around 11pm Monday night from Lotus Drive and said several people in a car were chasing him. Officers found him on Gettysburg Ave. with a stab wound to his back.

Capt. Porter said, "We're still looking into the whole situation, trying to figure out what type of weapon was involved."

Police said the man's injuries were not life-threatening.

So far, no arrests have been made.
