DAYTON, Ohio -- More than a dozen future journalists from the Dayton-area tested their skills on Saturday at a special event for high school students.

Students from across the Miami Valley took part in an annual High School Journalism Boot Camp at the University of Dayton.

The Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalists sponsors the camp each year.

Students had an opportunity to interact with journalism professional and college students and staff to learn more about newspaper, television and online media.

Participants also had a chance to try their hand at different forms of journalism.

Each year the camp is free and open to everyone.
