COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Miami Valley State Sen. Steve Austria said Tuesday that progress is being made toward a compromise on a new concealed weapons law in Ohio.

The progress comes just as a special committee began ironing out the differences between bills passed by the House and Senate.

Another senator said the debate has been going on for decades, and it is time to finish it -- with or without the governor's help.
