Authorities in Cleveland said the FBI confiscated a truck Tuesday that may have been hit by the Columbus-area highway shooter.

According to A and R Transport, truck driver William Love was driving the truck from Louisville, Ky., en route to Avon Lake, when he drove through an area just south of Columbus Tuesday at about 12:30 a.m.

A and R said Love did not hear any gunshots, but when he exited the truck after reaching Avon Lake, he noticed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the sleeping compartment of the truck.

Love contacted A and R's safety director, and Avon Lake police were called.

Police informed the FBI, and the truck was confiscated to determine whether the shooting is related to the Columbus shooting. If it is, it will be the 24th shooting in the case.

The Cuyahoga County coroner's office has now become involved in the investigation to assist with forensic evidence. The evidence found will be turned over to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

The shootings were concentrated around the Interstate 270 area, until this weekend, when two more shootings occurred further south, on Interstate 71 near Jeffersonville.

There has been one fatality in the string of shootings: Gail Knisley, 61, was killed in November
