Financial Help For Highway Shooting Victims

Posted: 3:30 pm EST March 3, 2004

Attorney General Jim Petro's office said Wednesday, the victims of the serial highway shootings near Columbus, can apply for financial help.

In December, the state paid more than 7,000 dollars toward funeral expenses for Gail Knisley. She is the only person who has been killed as a result of the highway shootings. She was shot Nov. 25 while riding in a car on Interstate 270.

Her friend who was driving, Mary Cox, is the only other person who's applied.

The fund can reimburse victims for medical and counseling expenses, along with wages for missed work.
