Jeffersonville Shootings Linked To Sniper Case

Police officials said two vehicles struck by bullets on Interstate 71 near Jeffersonville, are definitely linked to a series of highway shootings in the Columbus area.

Jeffersonville Highway ShootingInvestigators said a van and a Mercedes were fired on just minutes apart Sunday. The shootings happened about 40 miles south of Columbus near Jeffersonville. No one was injured.

Franklin County Chief Deputy Steve Martin said these shootings are linked to the 21 others. One person has died in the serial shootings, which have targeted vehicles, homes, and schools near near I-270.

One of Sunday's victims described the gunman as a middle-aged white male, with a medium build. Another motorist called 911 to report a man standing next to a black sports car on a highway overpass.
