LEBANON, Ohio -- A retired Springboro police lieutenant, arrested in the death of his wife nine years ago, has been released from jail.
Monday morning, Jim Barton pleaded not guilty to five charges including complicity to involuntary manslaughter. The judge set his bond at $55,000 dollars.Barton was arrested on Friday in connection with the 1995 death of his wife Vicki Barton. Warren County investigators said recently revealed evidence led to Barton's arrest.Barton said he returned home on April 11, 1995 to find his wife shot to death in the bedroom of their Franklin Township home.Barton has maintained his innocence over the past nine years.
