Suspicious Odor Sickens Two Hospital Employees

WASHINGTON TWP., Ohio -- Washington Township firefighters were called to a local hospital after several employees became sick and complained of a suspicious odor. The incident happened at Southview Hospital on Route 725 early Monday morning.Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly determined that a hood on a piece of equipment in the radiology department had come loose, causing the odor. Firefighters then called the Regional Hazmat Materials Team to help assist in the cleanup.Authorities said two employees in the department became nauseated from the odor and were taken to the emergency room for treatment. Officials said no evacuations were necessary.Crews used fans to help air out the radiology department and now everything is back to normal.
