DAYTON, Ohio -- A domestic dispute at Dayton police officer's home erupts into gunfire killing the wife of the officer.
The incident happened on North Euclid Street in Dayton around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
Investigators say officer Michael Blake called police dispatch after the shooting.
He was brought to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office to be questioned about the shooting.
Blake has been on the force for 17 years. As of Sunday evening Newscenter 7 learned he is no longer in police custody and has been released.
Niema Blake was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
North Euclid Street was closed off to traffic for hours as detectives investigated.
A neighbor we talked to says it made him feel safe to know a police officer lived on his street.
He says it's ironic to learn that the officer's home is the suspected scene of such violence.
